Seriously. WHAT THE FLYING FUCK WORLD.

"File-sharers, beware: By July 12, major US Internet service providers (ISPs) will voluntarily begin serving as copyright police for the entertainment industry, according to Cary Sherman, chief executive of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The so-called “six-strikes” plan is said to be one of the most effective anti-piracy efforts ever established in the US."

The article goes on to give details. After six notices, internet providers will decide to throttle a person's internet speed, or cut it off altogether. I don't know if they will crack down on torrents only, or if it is up to the internet provider. I get the sense it is up to the internet provider. So some people could get away with downloading non torrents, while others might get their internet service cut off. I urge you to click it and read, as we all know people who download.

No more downloading eps of your favorite shows for vidding, gifs, or fanfiction art. No more downloading screencaps possibly. I'm so sorry my friends. I don't even know if BT Guard will work to protect you, but I would google it if I were you. It is a professional service that supposedly can protect you from the invasive eyes of your internet provider.

Just, my friends, please make each other aware. Please be aware of the date JULY 12TH. Mark your calendar and double check with your internet provider by then. If you start receiving notices of downloaded activity, this is why. And your internet service could be throttled or cut off.

Seeing as I have been destroyed by the flu I've decided to start off [livejournal.com profile] pod_aware with a rec list for one of my oldest and still well loved fandoms.

Podfic: it's an audio recording of a fanfic, like an audiobook, how awesome is that? Fans from all over put their voices out there so you can enjoy fanfic on the go or just in a different way. To find out more about podfic, why we do it and how to get started, check out [livejournal.com profile] pod_aware on LJ or DW.

Living Arrangements by Afrai
"I'm human," said Aziraphale.

For the second time that morning, Crowley said:

"Just get in the car, angel," he hissed. "Or your books get it."
"If you feel that strongly about it, I suppose I could join you for a meal."

Salvation by Afrai
He wasn't going to get that. He'd had vague thoughts of defecting, of rebelling, of charging the gates of Heaven and demanding an answer, but he was pretty sure this course would only end in death by reckless stupidity. No.
It took him some time to realise he was falling apart.

Twofish by a demon of my word
Crowley had purchased the white and pink creature on a whim, sensing a deadly pissed-off little bugger. He'd put it into a bowl with the bug-eyed goldfish he'd bought because it looked like Aziraphale, innocent and well-read. It was a boring, good-natured, bookish creature he figured the angel could give a boring, good-natured, bookish home. When he returned to the bowl after a good half-hour of floral intimidation, Aziraphale's fish had been reduced to a single floating bug-eye and some rather interesting entrails. Crowley was suprised and delighted that he, seemingly by chance, had acquired an aquatic psychopath.

On the first day of the rest of their lives, Crowley and Aziraphale have tea at the Ritz. Crowley's car gleams in the newborn sun, and Aziraphale's bookshop is quite as dusty, ungleaming and wonderful as it ever was, with nothing to say that either was ever anything else except for the ash on a ruined suit in the back of Crowley's closet.

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

In March I set [livejournal.com profile] sarahtales's puppy on fire (-66 points). In January I punched [livejournal.com profile] paraka in the arm (-10 points). Last Saturday I put gum in [livejournal.com profile] asprosdrakos's hair (-12 points). Last Sunday I ruled Canada as a cruel and heartless dictator (-700 points). Last Monday I saved a busload of nuns in Angola (326 points).

Overall, I've been naughty (-462 points). For Christmas I deserve a moldy sandwich!

Sincerely,
Raxhel

Okay, I am enjoying the Merlin fandom to an extreme degree. So now I'm pimping it.
Go forth, watch pretty boys with swords, and chanting. Plus, Merlin is Arthur's manservant! Doesn't really get much more fun than that. Every word those two speak together is pure gold.

So I thinking I'm going to do Nanowrimo this November. I know it's crazy and it makes no sense, but I clearly have no sense anyway. So rock on senselessness. 50000 words, this will be the month.
Watch out world. Bad writing is coming your way.

So I'm making a SPN vid. And since I figure I might post here and also because I am bored I am now writing in my journal.
Also, I need more userpics. Namely SPN pics, by which I mean Dean pics because I adore Dean and his facial expressions beyond all belief.
I need more SPN. Maybe I'll just start rewatching. Thanks again to paraka (damn I've forgotten HTML) for season 3.

Okay, so here's the news. My beloved friend [livejournal.com profile] paraka is making me a webpage for my vids. Maybe my fics to one day but those aren't on the top of the list. For starters, she doesn't read my fics. ^.^ But when the page is done it will be on www.parakaproductions.net. Nifty.

Anyway, one random question. Is it wrong to consider getting a paid livejournal just to use mood themes? I'm like a livejournal newbie, even though I've had an account for years.  I'm super bad at posting, and I'm scared of all the other livejournal people.

Maybe I'll try posting more and see how that works.

Woot. (That's for you [livejournal.com profile] paraka )

raxhel: (Default)

This post is namely for [livejournal.com profile] nebulein . This is a list of the scanlation groups I use the most often.

Baka Manga Updates. This is a standard manga update list. It has many different mangas and a listing of the groups that scanlate them. Also, it sometime has short information blurbs about the manga.

Tokudane's Yaoi-Yuri Scanlation Listing. This is a listing of all sorts of yaoi and yuri groups, there websites, mirc channels and yahoo groups if they have them.

Aarinfantasy Forum You have to join to use this forum but it is a good place to get mangas. In the download sections you can request specific ones or just download what people have already uploaded. I get most of my manga from here.

Some of my favourite groups.

Nakama. They are scaning Sex Pistols, as well as many others. They produce nice quality scans. However, they are a little difficult to get downloads from. If you join their yahoo group, in the database you can find links to most of their manga.

Hochuuami. I like these guys as well and you can download their mangas off bittorrent.

Beautiful Soup Junjyou Romantica, Koi wa Itsumo Arashi no Youni, and Private Prince are my favourites.  And they have downloads.

Datenshi-Blue Relatively new. But has some interesting mangas coming out soon I believe.

Desperate-Love They have direct downloads.

DokiDoki Have bittorrents.

Essence of Purity  I can't get here anymore because I'm in China, but I'm pretty sure they are one of the top groups.

Fushichou Good, but slow to update and no downloads except for Mirc

MegKF Slow to update, and their website doesn't have much info but still a good group/

Memory For You Good and they have bittorrent

Mochi-Mochi Good and has direct downloads

Neoterica Can't get here anymore (China). But I like their manga choices.

No Deadline

Peccatore-Sanctuary

~~~~
Mirc is used by alot of groups. It takes a bit of work to figure out. If you want to try to I can give a idea of how to use it although I by no means understand it all that well.
Ok, random entry. Ai no Kusabi, a master/slave yaoi anime. Paraka my darling friend and fellow travel mate feels that this anime is not good enough for her. "The vids are better!" she cries. "They tell a more full story!"
Enter conversation sample one:
P: The vids make is seem like there are so many more fun parts. ----(aka smutty scenes)
R: WTF!!?? There are smutty scenes, you see them in the vids.
P: Yeah, but... there should be more to it. They just show you a glimpse.
R: Ahh, I see. I know what you mean.... yes, wait there is even a name for what you are searching for.... let me think... oh yeah... Porn.
P: Shut up.
There really is no pleasing her.
Paraka, I know you're the only one who reads this so this is all for you. Hugs, and killer cats to you.
Umm, I never post here. But if I have people who are reading. I'm currently in China, the city of Wuxi actually. And I have made more vids, okay, one more vid. They are posted on animemusicvideo.org under Raxhel. Also, I am now part of Paraka Productions and one day I will have a webpage. Yay, Paraka!
China is fun. I really need to start spreading my experiences around.
China note: Apparently the Chinese people feel that the Japanese are short. O.O Wow. Wonder what that makes anybody over 5'.
I made a vid. Another vid, my first one is somewhere. Umm, okay my second one is somewhere on my harddrive. My first one is somewhere on my harddrive too, but lets not speak about that. :-)When I have a link I'll post it. It's for DNAngel and I think it's pretty spiffy.
I'm doing a meme, which I snagged from [livejournal.com profile] gaudior Yay!
1) Sally forth to Fanfiction.net. Gird thy loins. Plunge in.
2) Choose a book, movie, show, etc. you have never heard of (or, in a pinch, at least one you know nothing about aside from the name) that has at least ten fics listed.
3) Read only the first page of story summaries.
4) Using what you have learned from these summaries, describe what this book/movie/whatever is about. Be as silly as you like, but ONLY use whatever you just learned...
I will do this I swear. Soon.
I've decided to attempt to take a more activate part in my livejournal since so many people seem to be moving to it. I've joined some groups and stuff. Anyway this is the second time I written this and sheer laziness prevents me from saying more so here's part of one of my crappy fics. (Damn NaNiMo, one day I will defeat you!!!)
I had a story here but I could't figure out how to do a LJ cut. And my post was too long. Will figure out how soon.
<
And here's one that will probably never be finished.
            The feel of a wet cloth roused the man. He shifted, and blinked open his eyes. It was dark; the only light came from a lamp somewhere behind the person holding the cloth.
            He opened his mouth in an attempt to ask where he was but no sound emerged. The person tending his forehead reached over and offered him a glass. Shifting, so that he was sitting up, he reached for the glass and took two large swallows. The glass was quickly taken away.
            “No. You must drink slowly or you will be sick.”
            The voice was a woman’s, and as this was noted the women moved, placing the glass on the table. She was tanned a dark brown. Her hair, a shade of auburn, was streaked with gray.
            “Can you speak?” she asked. Her voice was commanding but kind. She reminded him of somebody but he couldn’t bring that person to mind.
            The man coughed. “Yes,” he rasped. “More water, please.”
And here's one I actually finished.
  Night was its element, night was a time of fears, a time when people committed the evilest of evils and it fed on them. It strength grew, in fact in had been growing daily for a while now. After centuries of hiding in the shadows, of being a part of the dark souls, it, no, he, yes he, he had grown, had developed in a way he had never thought possible. He had waited for so long, without ever knowing what he was waiting for.
 He was now no longer a part of something else, he was himself and it was a glorious feeling. He no longer needed puppets to do what he wanted. He gathered himself, forming a body to house his self.
 In his thoughts he made the choice, he was male because males inspired more fear and he fed on fear, he loved it. And now he could taste it, his tongue darted out, its forked end more like a snake’s then a man’s. A slow smirk spread across his newly formed face. A face that was both young and old at the same time. He stretched out his long graceful fingers; his fingernails glittered in the moonlight, reflecting off the deadly sharp points as the hand was flexed.
 Oh he liked this; the feel of individuality was exhilarating. He was no longer just a part of something bigger. He walked now on long legs clothed in a pair of black leather pants. A blood red t-shirt covered his chest and shadows formed around the shirt before fading to revel a black leather jacket.
 The thing paused to admire his work; he reached up and ran a hand through the silky black hair, which tumbled to his shoulders. He was pleased, again that smirk spread across his face, fangs glittered and that forked tongue darted out.
 He stopped, and his tongue darted out again. His brow furrowed, as he tasted something in the air. He stood on the outskirts of the city and he wanted to walk through the streets bringing hate and fear and death in his wake. But this scent, this taste drew him. It led not toward the city but the tranquil stillness of the country.
 Still he hesitated, his tongue darting out again. He sighed in glee, this smell, this taste was delicious. It was so innocent, but so guilty, and fear and anger, oh yes those were there too. For a second his lip curled in a sneer as he also caught the scent of love and honour. But soon the smile was back; a challenge was what he wanted. He wanted to bring him as low as he could go before he devoured him, he wanted to make that innocent soul his. Once he had that nothing could stop him.
 Something rustled through the bushes and he froze, he had to get moving. It didn’t appreciate parts of it obtaining individuality. For now he was too strong to be taken back, but he needed to feed. He practically drooled as the scent came to him again. With this soul as a part of him he couldn’t be stopped. And the soul was at a crucial junction, at its very weakest. It was a risk, but one he was willing to take, the benefits would be beyond his wildest dreams.
 His decision made he turned and moved into the forest, the shadows rose up to cover him as he followed that delicious scent to its source.
There, now my post is long and boring. So HA! to anybody who read this far. *cough* [livejournal.com profile] paraka *cough*
